List Manipulation:


Sometimes Word will crash when manipulating bullet lists. This can be caused by a corrupted Word installation file. To fix the bullet issue there is a file in the Word directory that must be deleted. It is located here:

  • C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\ListGal.dat


To Navigate to the file, follow the steps below:

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Go to your C: Drive
  3. Go to Users
  4. Open your Username folder
  5. Open AppData
  6. Open Roaming
  7. Open the Microsoft folder
  8. Open the Word folder
  9. Right Click ListGal.dat and select Delete


The file will rebuild when starting Word again.


AppData may be set as a hidden folder. To reveal hidden items follow the arrows in the picture below.
