After you've created an Access Code, you'll want to add students to it. There are three ways to accomplish this: Using a Code, Manually Adding Students, and Manually Adding a Classroom.

Using a Code:

Distribute a Code to your students and ask them to redeem that Code in their Student Account.

  • After an Access Code is created, you'll see a Code available to copy on the Content tab.

Manually Adding Students:

This method allows you more control to only add those students that you want to the access code while preventing any errant redemptions of a code.

  1. Select the access code that you want to add students to.
  2. Click on the Students tab and then the + Students button.
    • Add Existing Students – Choose this option if the students that you want to add are already in your Testing Center.
    • Import Students – Choose this option if the students that you want to add are not in your Testing Center, and you want to both import the whole list with a CSV file and automatically have them added to your Access Code.
    • Add New Student – Choose this option if the students you want to add are not in your Testing Center and you want to both add them here in the platform and automatically have them added to your Access Code by filling out the below information and clicking create.

Add Existing Students:

  1. Clicking Add Existing Students will open a list where you can search for and select the students that you want to add to the Access Code.

  2. Click Add # Students to add those student(s) to the Access Code.

    • IMPORTANT – When a student is added to an Access Code, a redemption is used against the license(s) that the Access Code is leveraging to provide content access. If the student is removed, the redemption will be refunded only if the student has NOT yet accessed content provided by the Access Code. If the student DID access the content, then the redemption will not be refunded.

Create New Student:

  1. Clicking Create New Student will open the Create New Student form.

  2. Following the process for creating a new Student that will both be added to your Testing Center, and also added to this Access Code.

Import Students:

  1. Clicking Import Students will take you to the Import Students page where you can follow the typical Import Students process.

  2. When this process is completed, the students you imported will have been added to your Testing Center and also added to your Access Code.

Manually Adding a Classroom:

Like manually adding students, this method allows you more control to only add those students that you want to the access code while preventing any errant redemptions of a code.

Adding Classrooms to an Access Code is also helpful when you are teaching the same content to more than one group of students and want to be able to edit content and settings from one centralized place for all of those groups.

  1. Select the access code that you want to add students to.

  2. Click on the Students tab and then the + Classrooms button.

  3. You'll be given a list of options for adding Students:

    • Add Existing Classrooms – Choose this option if you have an existing Classroom that you want to add to your Access Code.

    • Create New Classroom – Choose this option if you do not have an existing Classroom, and you want to both create a new Classroom and have it automatically added to your Access Code.

Add Existing Classrooms:

  1. Clicking Add Existing Classroom(s) will open a list where you can search for and select the Classroom(s) that you want to add to the access code.

  2. Click Add # Classrooms to add those Classroom(s) to the access code.

There is no way to remove an entire Classroom from the access code at the moment. You may only remove students individually from the access code.

Create New Classroom:

  1. Clicking Create New Classroom will open the Create New Classroom form.

  2. Complete this form to create a new Classroom that will both be added to your Testing Center, and also added to your Access Code.

    • Note that you'll be able to create a Classroom and attach it to the Access Code, and you can add students to that Classroom later. (See Adding Students to a Classroom)

If you need to remove a student from the code you can do so by clicking the trash can icon next to the student you wish to remove.
